Approximate finished chest: 26", 28", 30", and 32".
Yarn: Knit Col by Plymouth
Yarn Requirements: 580 (720, 865, 990) yards.
Needles: US #5 for body of sweater or size required for gauge.
US #3 for neck, front bands, and cuffs.
Gauge: 6 sts and 7 rows per inch after washing and drying in your preferred method or as appropriate for the yarn used.
Note: You can omit the button tabs and just put button holes in the center of the front band. Instructions included.
The body of this cardigan is worked vertically. The fronts are worked from the side seam to the center and the back is worked from the right side to the left. The shoulders are seamed and the side seams are joined with a three needle bind off. The bottom band is worked in garter stitch simultaneously with the body pieces. The neckband is picked up and worked in garter stitch after the shoulders are seamed and the front bands feature the button tabs (which are optional). The sleeves are then picked up and worked in the round down to the cuff. It is a slightly oversized garment designed to fit growing kids from approximately 2 to 10 years of age and the sleeves have a longer garter sittch cuff designed to be adjustable by rolling it up or down as needed.
